Burning problems in GDS welfare issues – reg.
Respected
Sir,
It is constrained to
bring your kind notice that the following problems to be settled at your end
for the welfare of the GDS employees.
1. Delay
in settlement of the group insurance and other discharge benefits amount.
Most
of the divisions have not collected the discharge benefits papers well in
advance and it would cause more difficulties to settle the retirement benefits
in time to the discharged GDS. In this matter, your kind attention is invited
to issue proper orders to the divisional heads to settle the retirement benefits
such as Group Insurance without delay and prepare discharge benefit papers in
advance.
2. Inordinate
Delay in granting confirmation orders to GDS.
Normally
GDS employees are regularised after observing some departmental formalities.
Inordinate delay caused to the GDS officials while granting such regular
observations. Hence the GDS officials are losing some monetary benefits and
suffered a lot. Therefore this union suggests that, time limit may kindly be
fixed to complete the procedure and avoid delay. Also proper direction may be
issued to the concerned to avoid delay for regularization.
3. Inordinate
delay in compassionate ground appointment to the family member of the deceased
GDS official.
Normally
after the decease of a GDS, anyone of the eligible family members can ask for
appointment on relaxation. While at the time of applying the compassionate
ground appointments the committee constituted by the department forwards
report. It is directed by the DG’s level the committee should be constituted in
a regular interval for consider relaxation appointments but in our circle the
committee has not formed in due time. Therefore a large number of deserving
families are suffered in indigent circumstances.
Therefore
the kind attention of the CPMG is invited in this matter and proper direction
may be issued to convene the committee in a regular interval.
4. Consider
the transfer request to the GDS officials.
GDS
officials are permitted to apply transfer to their own request. After applying
the transfer, inordinate delay is caused at the feeder level. In this
connection, the Appointing Authorities are forward the application only after
the perusal of performance report, it is against the principle of transfer.
Therefore the officers would retain the application, result which there is a
inordinate delay in forwarding the application. But the influenced officials
would get transfer within a very short period of time. The divisional heads
required
some unwarranted informations about the officials and in this connection also,
delay is incurred. In the Regional Office also raises various clarifications
one by one in different times and it would also cause more delay.
Totally
the GDS officials those who are applying transfer meet more difficulties to
obtain transfer.
Therefore
this union suggests that the GDS officials those who are applying transfers may
kindly be considered in the due time and avoid unwanted hardships. Sympathetic
consideration is awaited.
Thanking
You
Yours
Faithfully
